 They're Alive! FAQ's

  1. So what's with the name?
Words on a web page which were dead and dull before are now 'alive'. Hey - if you've got a better name, let us know (although the probability of your name being picked so late in the game is low - it'll have to be something really special!)!

  2. I don't like the idea of you guys keeping track of all the information that I select.
We don't. Whatever you select, whatever website you go to using our menus, none of it is sent to us. We have no idea of how you're using They're Alive! We don't even ask for any registration while downloading it, so we don't even know who you are. Your personal information can never be breached - we don't store any in the first place.

  3. I want to add my own favorite website to the list of menu options. Is that possible?
Yes it is. Select any word on a website - on the menu that pops up, click on the last entry titled "Customize They're Alive!". Alternatively, click on the They're Alive icon on your Internet Explorer toolbar. You'll be presented with the menu options screen where you can define your own custom sites and relevancy associations.

  4. I think if you could just do this like this, it would be great.
We're always looking out for ways to improve our product. Drop in a note

  5. While installing They're Alive!, I get an error message saying "Administrator privileges required"
To install any add-on component to Internet Explorer, Administrative privileges are required. Just re-login as Administrator and install They're Alive! If you are part of a network, ask your system administrator to do it for you.

  6. What about support for Opera / Firefox / insert your favorite browser here ?
While we do realize that Firefox and Opera are browsers with a rapidly growing user base, at this point of time our resources do not allow us to develop extensions for them too.

  7. What other features are you planning to add?
    • Implement maps, email and book search options
    • Let users choose between having a transparent menu popping up on word selection or having They're Alive! appear on the right click menu.
    • Instead of only keywords, relevancy will be implemented with regular expressions and pattern search.
    • An easy way to share keyword tags created by you with your friends.

  8. Are you a Sergio Leone fan?
    Yeah, he's pretty cool.
